| Krista Schultz is about to begin her second season as Team BBC's
conditioning coach. She provides structured cycling programs based on proven
periodization principles. As a triathlete, Krista's accolades include: achieving
USA Triathlon All-American status in 2007 and qualifying for the Ironman World
Championship in Hawaii for 2005 through 2007, Best of the US for 2005 through
2007, and Ironman World Championship 70.3 in 2007. Krista also competed in
cyclocross for 3 years and was ranked as one of the top females in the Women's B
category. Krista is certified by USA Cycling and has tested, trained, and coached cyclists of all levels in road, mountain and cyclocross racing. Employing the same testing equipment as used by the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs; Krista, the Director of Total Performance, Inc., performs metabolic testing at the Pro Fit training studio in Towson MD. In addition to having a master's degree in Education of Exercise Science, Krista is also certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Triathlon. She has been testing and coaching endurance athletes for more than 10 years. Tri, which is a women's triathlon training camp. This is a joint
venture between Krista and David Glover of EnduranceWorks, LLC to introduce more women to the
sport of triathlon in a fun, safe and non-competitive environment."The She Does Tri weekend camps will cover all aspects of triathlon with both instruction and practice in order to better prepare women for their first or their twentieth triathlon. Chris Newell is Team BBC's new racing fundamentals coach. He's 39 and was raised and
lives in Reisterstown MD. He started cycling in 1992 and soon started racing
mountain bikes. In 1995 he joined the Trek team which later became the Trek East
Coast Factory Team. In 1999 Chris was a member of Team USA's Masters World Mountain Bike Team and placed 18th in Bromont, Quebec, Canada. In 2001 Chris started doing XTERRA races, which are basically off-road Olympic distance triathlons. He placed 2nd at the XTERRA USA Championships and 2nd at the World Championships for his age group. Racing for the SoBe/Cannondale and Cannondale Factory Team, Chris was the XTERRA Regional Champion 3 times and won his first XTERRA overall in 2004. In 2005 Chris started doing road triathlons. He was an All American for 2005 and represented the USA at the ITU Age Group World Championships in Oahu Hawaii. In the recent past, Chris has raced road, mountain and cyclocross; and is currently training for Ironman Arizona in November. Chris started coaching in 2005 and became a USCF coach in 2007. This year he established his own coaching service, Sublime Athletics, to provide structured programs for cyclists, triathletes, etc. In December he will be completing his USA Cycling Level 2 Coach certification and will be getting his USA Triathlon Coach certification in 2009.
